Sometime after our visit to Glastonbury Abbey Mrs Kym Wych (pronounced witch) gave a most interesting and amusing talk about her work as a guide at the Abbey. She started by describing her three seeds (which we would call Magic Moments) which guided her away from being a ballerina, being introduced to pantomime and thirdly, meeting her mentor. As her tale progressed she gradually emerged as Alyce Plee, wearing the garb of a kitchen maid in the year 1538. Quite suddenly her husband appeared, dressed magnificently, as a representative of the Establishment recounting the sacking of the Abbey and the torture inflicted on the Abbey officials. The pure theatre was enjoyed by all.
